What is Graduate Planning?

University-run startup helping students make the most of their finances

How we can work together

Tabling / Bubble Tea Booths

    • We set up a booth and give out goodies – our go-to is bubble teas!

    • We take care of acquiring the treats we are giving out including delivery and cost

    • We are able to promote ourselves and the services we provide alongside your organization

    • You help provide us with the people to give things too

    • Event is registered and approved to hand out food through bearsden/macewan-life

    • Minimum 2 weeks notice

    • Event has 100+ students, or set up in high-traffic area

Social Media Posts / Digital Posters

    • We provide a PDF that can be shared to your students

    • Past posts have been about grant deadlines, student financial planning, and faculty-specific grant opportunities

    • We provide monetary sponsorship – either per post or for a set of posts

    • You share these through your social media channels, newsletters, email blasts, etc.

    • Any sets of posts allow for a month between each post

    • Minimum 2 weeks notice

Presentations & Guest Speaking

  • We provide a tailored presentation on:

    • Faculty specifics grants, scholarships and bursaries

    • Faculty specific career paths, job contracts, and work benefits

  • We provide a short 10-15 minute presentation as a part of another event. For example:

    • Orientations

    • Career presentations

    • Large events or galas

Speaking is usually focused on the grants students should consider applying for

    • Presenting to 50 to 250 students

    • approximately 50 to 250 people in attendance

    • Minimum one month notice

Career Resources

  • We will interview the common hiring managers to aggregate the different career paths and job contracts students can expect to receive upon graduation. Information can include:

    • Wages and signing bonus

    • Benefits and vacation days

    • Hiring manager contact information

    • Interviews from past students on work-life at their current workplace

  • This is a much larger project, so we only provide to groups we have ongoing relationships with.

We find career resources work best with faculties where students have 3-15 common hiring paths. If all students tend to work for one employer, or there are hundreds of employers, then our research wont be helpful.
