  • Intended for students who will experience a financial shortfall

Who is Eligible?

  • Domestic Students

  • Currently Attending Classes

  • Can demonstrate a financial deficit

How much can I receive?

What is the Process?

    • Student Award Letter

    • Chequing & Savings Statements (Aug + Sept)

    • Most Recent Credit Card Statement

    • Statements for any other credit products (Lines of Credit, Car Loans, etc.)

  • Includes:

    • Rotation/Practicum Costs

    • Computer/Laptop

    • Travel

    • Licensing Exams

    • Study Materials

    • >$500 Transaction Explanations

    • Undefined Transactions (eg. Transfer to Savings)

    • Highlighting Common Categories (Education, Food, Living, etc.)

    • Elaborate on any complexities with financial situation

    • Highlight key points to calculate financial deficit

    • Demonstrate impact of financial burden

    • Sign in through UofA portal

    • Upload Documents & Essays

    • Enter Key Numbers

How does receiving my funding work?

Once you submit your application it will go into processing:

  • If any further information is required they will notify you via email

  • Once approved, you will receive an email to go to your BearTracks

  • On your BearTracks, you will receive a notification of the amount you were awraded

After your application is approved:

  • Funds are sent to the University first to pay any outstanding amounts (tuition, fees, parking tickets, etc.)

  • Any Emergency Student Loans you received through the University will also be paid back

  • Remaining amount is sent directly to your account
